DAY 1 |
|
Arrival to Buenos Aires |
|
| | |
| Day at leisure. Use the rest of the day to explore the Argentinean capital. The city is comprised by a number of distinct neighborhoods, some of which have become top tourist draws. For many, the highlight of the city is San Telmo for the weekend antiques market and street artists displays.
La Boca with its brightly colored walls and buildings also draws Portenos (the locals) and tourists alike. A Sunday afternoon soccer match at the fabled La Bombonera is not to be missed. Posh Recoleta, with its cafes, museums and the cemetery, is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. The heart of B.A. is Plaza de Mayo, with the historic Cabildo (City Hall), the Casa Rosada (Government Palace) and the Cathedral of San Martin. When you are done exploring, settle your weary feet and enjoy a drink in one of the many sidewalk cafes and restaurants and you will begin to understand the Argentine way of life. Upon return B.A. will be your last chance to try the succulent bife con parrilladas, so dig in and enjoy! Transfers from the airport to the hotel can be arranged upon request (not included with the package). Accommodation at Rochester Hotel.
