Day 2
Lima
This three-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern
Lima. Included are Lima's most imposing colonial churches and mansions such
as the Government Palace, the Plaza Mayor, the City Hall and the Cathedral,
including 17th century San Francisco Monastery. The tour ends with a visit
to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, where a visit to the pre-Inca pyramid
of Huaca Huallamarca (closed Mondays) and on-site museum is included before
continuing to Miraflores, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Overnight.
Day 3
Lima - Pachacamac
Pachacamac (Quechua word for Creator of the World) is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Lima. The site was considered one of the most important religious centers of the Pre-Inca people of the central Andes. It contains a number of pyramids, temples and buildings made of adobe by the Huari and Ishmay cultures and by the Incas. The Temple of the Sun and the Acllahuasi (House of the Chosen Women) are part of this archaeological complex. There is also a site museum whose exhibits include the Pachacamac Oracle Staff. Includes: transportation, guide and admissions. Duration: approximately 3 hours. Closed on Monday
