TOURS:Visit to Lima historic downtown: Lima city was founded by Francisco Pizarro and the Spanish conquerors in 1535 and became the center of the Spanish Viceroyalty in South America for three centuries because of its strategic location. In 1821, Lima became capital of the Republic of Peru remaining a very important city in South America. Nowadays, greater Lima city has more than 8 million inhabitants and is one of the most populated cities in the region. Lately, Lima historic downtown was declared cultural estate of the humanity by UNESCO because of its numerous architectural designs which represent strong European Middle Age influence. Important buildings should be visited such as Palacio de Gobierno or Casa de Pizarro, Municipal Palace, Lima’s Cathedral, numerous beautiful churches, stone- and wooden-made structures and balconies. San Isidro olives’ grove is also an interesting place to be sought. Miraflores, Lima’s touristical city, is also an important place to go.
